Seventy-Seven, (3843 Main St., Culver City, CA 90232, 310.559.7707) is a new speakeasy behind the newly opened, Culver City’s Rocco’s Tavern, and its opening Thursday. Darkly lit, with a red ceiling and crystal chandeliers this spot is pretty incognito. They serve up small plates and drinks like the Jack and the Beanstalk (muddled watermelon, vanilla and Jack Daniel’s) and the Peter Piper (dirty martini that’s dirtied with pickle juice instead). That’s my kind of dirty martini. Feeling sweet? Order the S’mortini (vodka, vanilla and chocolate liqueurs, a graham-cracker rim and torched marshmallows). I say forget the small plates and drink your dinner and dessert.
