Perch

Perch ( 448 S Hill St., Downtown; 213.802.1770) is a new Downtown French rooftop bar officially opening Friday. Here’s a little history: the Pershing Square Building used to be 13 floors, but the owner thought that was unlucky. To fix the problem, he built a couple more levels. Thus, creating Perch.

Among the foliage nosh on food like, Cordon Bleu Poppers, Rabbit Rillette with braised plums, candied kumquat, & vanilla shallot marmalade; Pork Confit Cassolet with pork belly & cracklings; the three-mini-club platter called Duck, Duck, Goose and Shake & Bake Drumsticks (frog legs), but here it’s all about the atmosphere. After work enjoy your lounge chair while watching the sunset against the twinkling trees. For drinks, peruse the French wine list, the rare cognacs and cocktails like the French Maid (cognac, lime, cucumber and mint).
