Astali Jewelry

I came across Astali jewelry at my first Thread Show in LA. It is hand-crafted and designed by NYC-based artist, Shannon Astali DeJong. Since her childhood in rural Iowa, Shannon has been collecting discarded objects and crafting them into something new. This is what caught my eye and made me fall in love with this jewelry. I love pieces that seem like they have been a family heirloom or have been created form your most prized possessions. Found objects are used in the most unique settings and many of the pieces strike a cord and bring back memories. From the NY subway token, to the bangle created from a guitar string, you are sure to find a treasure and something you love.
