Sushi chef Niki Nakayama’s long-awaited venture, N/Naka, (3455 S Overland Ave., Culver City; 310.836.6252) is open today! OK, so it may not be for those on a tight budget, but this is a reservations-only place, with prix fixe omakase meals. The interior is pretty minimal, with nine dining tables, a giant wine and sake case and of course a sushi bar. As for the incredible eats…fresh cuts of sashimi are interludes between courses like as sous vide Wagyu beef, steamed crab mushi, and poached foie gras all spiced from the chef’s private garden. Save room for the green tea souffle dessert.
