AKT West Hollywood – Sweat, Dance, Burn, and Change With This Full Body Workout

Now that the lockdown is officially over, and Summer is here, it’s time to reintroduce yourself to the world. If you were one of the 60% of Americans who gained a few pounds or lost some of your stamina, do not fret. AKT West Hollywood is the perfect solution to counteract the lockdown blues and the dreaded Covid 15. Give your mind and body the workout it deserves with AKT. The new fitness studio just opened their first location in L.A. in West Hollywood, and invites you to experience, a “Full body workout that combines cardio dance intervals with strength and toning.”

Developed by Celebrity Trainer, Anna Kaiser, AKT is deeply rooted in movement and positive energy, and guarantees that you will: sweat, dance, burn and change all while having fun. The workout concept offers four signature classes: Dance, Bands, Tone, and Circuit, all set in a dimly lit ambiance. In the Dance class you will dance and burn as you alternate between choreographed dance steps and short strength intervals. Bands challenges you to focus on balance, agility and full body conditioning as you exercise with resistance bands dangling from the ceiling, and the stability of a box. Get ready for a lot step ups, lunges, squats, and intense cardio sections. I swear I lost 3 lbs. after taking that class! For those looking to tone, condition and recover, the Tone class pairs full-body strength with smaller isolated movements and ends with a foam rolling session to aid in your recovery. Circuit combines cardio and strength in 30 and 15 second intervals. This class is designed to build lean muscle through plyometric full body power movements. All of the classes are set to a soundtrack of the hottest hits that will have you singing along while you feel the burn.

If you’re like me and have any injuries or certain moves that you cannot do, feel free to modify. AKT is for every body and every level of fitness. It’s a non-judgement zone that is all about positive vibes and encouragement. In other words, do what you can, and if you need to take a rest or modify, do it.
