V is for Victory over Valentine’s Day Because LOVE is for Life, not just Valentine’s Day

We’ve been dancing around town with hearts and ‘Love’ displayed on our chests, wrists, laptops and phone cases for so long, we’ve virtually made a mockery of Valentine’s Day itself, and for this reason, we reckon ‘victory over V-day; is the real cause for celebration this February 14th.

Oh, you’ve seen them. Phrases like ‘Love Me’, ‘Love Yourself’, ‘I Am Enough’, ‘We are One’, ‘You & me’, ‘Vous et Moi’ (okay, I’ll stop at French, but you get the gist – I could, and we all should, go on and on…)

In fact, we now show so much daily love and appreciation for ourselves and loved ones all year through, why should we buy flowers, hearts and adoration cards on one day when we’ve been doing it all the other days?

This realization has made me so damn happy that I’ve just scrapped the ‘Perfect Valentine’s Gifts’ story and have decided to share five of my favorite new products with you instead. They’re all treats for you and there’s something to warm your heart, body and home all year through.

(Okay, and when the times comes, they’re totally sharable with your boo, too…)

Here are five new picks to treat the most adorable person you know – you.

Amp up your health and kitchen shelf with one or three delicious Hamptons Salts

Salt’s Cure
Health professionals have finally reached the conclusion that ‘good salt’ has as many health benefits as electrolytes. In fact – good salts are electrolytes! So rejoice and stock up on healthy well-balanced doses of high quality salts from The Hampton Salt Co. Treat your taste buds to infused salts like smoked bacon, jalapeño and truffle salt, or their earthy raw salt collection, all packed with essential minerals. Personally, their smoked salts are utterly dreamy lightly sprinkled over a hearty breakfast scramble or perfectly poached eggs. For good measure, add a side of sliced avocado, sautéed asparagus and a wedge of lemon – brunch of Queens!

ODIN's dreamy Milieu Rosa scent from their White Line Collection

Scent for Your Soul
Take a break from your trusty signature scent and reach for a fresh, uplifting new fragrance that will propel you into an early Spring. Odin’s new White Line Collection has a trio of luxury fragrances to choose from in stunning bottles. I’m a big fan of Milieu Rosa, because it’s soft and sweet, yet a bit woodsy. Efflora is super fresh and bursting with tangerine, neroli blossom, and Vert Reseda is a warm, herbaceous mix of Gardenia and wild Peony – it packs a punch and will have you wanting to do a little skip down the street. Available at Barneys New York and online here. Each White Line Collection fine fragrance is $210 each.

Prosecco candle by Antica Farmista

Smells like a Celebration
Honestly, if I only received candles as gifts for the rest of my life, I will die a very happy girl. So while I realize not everyone can while away an entire hour in a candle store (yes, I’m talking about you Candle Delirium in West Hollywood) I find it quite difficult not to sing from the Hollywood hilltops when I stumble across a particularly exceptional one. Antica Farmacista’s Prosecco is one seriously worth it’s wick and is a delicious, sparkly blend of apricot, tangerine and sugared black currant and will immerse your home in multiple reasons to crack open a bottle of the real stuff – Available in store or online here and here ($44 each).

Love Handles
I’m a massive fan of a ‘double duty’ day-to-evening purses and I’m tinkled pink with this adorable cross-body PU leather satchel by Angela Roi in ‘Morning Plum.’ It’s surprisingly roomy with multiple pockets and will be a daily reminder of how utterly loveable you, whilst helping a great cause as a percentage of each purse sale goes towards supporting Alzheimer’s fighters. Available online here ($105).

it's no yolk, Egg Cream sheet masks are fast, economical and delivery great results

Egg on Your Face!
Honestly, where have sheet masks been all my life? They are the ultimate lazybones solution to a clear complexion and an instant dewy glow. What’s more, I have it on good authority from two top Los Angeles aestheticians that sheet masks are the next best thing to a professional treatment. So I did a little research and I can now tell you that the humble egg is the answer to pretty much all skin complains from the collarbone up. The Too Cool For School Egg Cream Sheet Mask is super easy to apply and quickly plumps and hydrates. While the wonder of egg white, yolk and vitamin D also help to prevent sagging, and at $25 for a pack of five, you’re essentially paying five bucks a facial, so go get cracking! (Sorry..) Available online here and here $6 per mask or $25 for pack of 5.
