Los Angeles Times’ The Taste

The Los Angeles Times‘ celebration of SoCal’s culinary scene, The Taste, has James Beard Outstanding Chef Nancy Silverton, Southwest cuisine chef John Sedlar & Master Bartender Julian Cox, Michelin-starred chef Michael Cimarusti, and chef and restaurateur Thomas Keller partnering with The Times’ Food staff for the five events during the weekend festivities at Paramount Picture Studios.

Each themed Taste event will have unlimited tastings, specialty cocktails and other libations. Events include:

Opening Night: The soirée will celebrate LA’s vibrant dining community with a focused collection of tastings, cocktail & wine offerings, and live entertainment. Friday, August 29, 7:30-11 pm.

Field to Fork: Hosted by Russ Parsons, Times Food Editor, and Nancy Silverton, Chef/Co-Owner of Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza, and Founder of La Brea Bakery. Celebrate seasonal ingredients with a demo by Nancy Silverton. Saturday, August 30, 11 am-3 pm.

Dinner with a Twist: Hosted by Betty Hallock, Times Deputy Food Editor; Jonathan Gold, Times Restaurant Critic; John Sedlar, Chef/Owner of Rivera; and Master Bartender Julian Cox. Sedlar & Cox take the stage for a collaborative demo inspired by the evening’s theme that pairs LA’s boldest bites with the city’s most imaginative cocktails. Saturday, August 30, 7:30-11 pm.

Sunday Brunch: Hosted by Noelle Carter, Times Test Kitchen Director, and Thomas Keller, Chef/Proprietor of The French LaundryPer SeBouchonBouchon Bakery and Ad Hoc. This Brunch celebrates Angeleno’s favorite weekend tradition with Keller to run a panel conversation. Sunday, August 3, 11 am-3 pm.

Flavors of LA: Hosted by Jonathan Gold, Times Restaurant Critic, and Michael Cimarusti, Chef/Owner of Providence, Chef/Partner of Connie and Ted’s. A night dedicated to the unique tastes of dining in Los Angeles. Cimarusti will do a cooking demo that brings the weekend’s events to a end. Sunday, August 31, 7:30-11 pm.

$150/Opening Night tickets; $100-125/Saturday & Sunday events and a $25 discount on individual tickets is available for Los Angeles Times members.
