Flying Pig Cafe, (141 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles) is the restaurant from the Flying Pig Food Truck. It’s opening on July 16 and serving up an Asian/American hybrid with dishes like Prosciutto con Shishito (cream cheese, chili paste, basil, prosciutto), Oxtail and Uni Pasta. (Dinner menu here, & lunch menu here). Most dishes are $7-$12, with a steak dish at $25 and that Whole Butt dinner at $60, but it feeds six people. To wash it all down, Flying Pig serves red and white wine, sake and both bottled and draft beer ranging from Sapporo to Bud to Hangar 24 Orange Wheat.
Now the important stuff. On July 16th from 5-8 pm they will be giving away pork belly buns, beer, and togarashi fries. Also, the first 50 guests get a coupon for half off dinner for two, customers who received a specially marked pork bun win a “Whole Butt” dinner and guests who dress as a pig for the opening score a $50 gift certificate.
