Ghostbound Westbound
Friday the 13th marks the start of the spooktacular Ghostbound extravaganza at Westbound. The Halloween experience from the DTLA’s speakeasy-inspired craft cocktail bar will host a series of haunted and favorite childhood activities throughout the month of October. Tuesday through Thursday and on Sundays, stay safe from supernatural spirits by sipping on special potions ($10) during the late night “Witching Hour” from 11 pm-close. Cocktails include: Ichabod Plane made with mezcal, cappelletti (an Italian vino aperitivo), Kina L’Avion d’Or (aperitif), lemon juice, and simple syrup; Double Bubble Boilermaker Trouble made with Pumpkin ale with a shot of applejack; and They’re Here made with Appleton rum, falernum, Amaro Montenegro, and clover bitters. Every Wednesday, they are hosting a “Harvest Night” with autumnal activities including: Pumpkin Painting where you can sip on any of Westbound’s new fall cocktails while painting a pumpkin by the fire pit on the back patio ($2-$8); Pumpkin Bocce Ball, play this classic game with a fall twist; and Bobbing for Apples. Mr. C Beverly Hills Outdoor Movie Screenings
Mr. C Beverly Hills have decided to extend their Mr. C Poolside Cinema into the fall. You are invited to enjoy a range of classic, family-friendly movies at sundown. Set under the stars on the Venetian-inspired pool deck, you can relax on chic, comfortable loungers while keeping warm with heat lamps and complimentary blankets. Seats can be pre-reserved by purchasing in advance a Mr. C Cinema Prix-Fixe Menu featuring more casual Cipriani offerings and hotel classics, such as the Mr. C Club Sandwich with fried egg and Pizza Mr. C with burrata and Prosciutto crudo di Parma. Attendees can also indulge in caprese-style popcorn, boxes of candy, mini bottles of Moët & Chandon Champagne, and Peroni Nastro Azzurro on-tap. Patina’s Wine Dinner with guest chef Santiago Migoya of Talo
Guest chef Santiago Migoya of Talo in Mexico City, is an alumnus of the Patina kitchen. Migoya worked under Patina Restaurant Group founder and chef Joachim Splichal for several years, and is now the famed chef of one of Mexico City’s most noteworthy restaurants. For two nights only, you will have the opportunity to experience Migoya’s signature cooking style, which celebrates the culinary crossroads between Mexican and new Basque cuisine, inspired by classic flavors, and presented with a modern twist. Tam O’Shanter Host Stag’s Leap Wine Pairing Dinner
Tam O’Shanter will host a four-course wine pairing dinner highlighting Stag’s Leap Winery.  Featured wines include 2015 Stag’s Leap Chardonnay (paired with a fall apple salad with mixed greens, walnuts, apple cider vinaigrette); 2014 Stag’s Leap Merlot (paired with delicious pork ribs); 2014 Stag’s Leap Cabernet (paired with braised pork chop with glazed carrots and aligot potatoes); and 2014 Stag’s Leap Petit Sirah (paired with Blackberry mousse chocolate cake with ganache glaze). Sunroom at Malibu Country Mart Hosts Grand Opening Party With Anna Sheffield Trunk Show
Sunroom is a women’s clothing and accessory boutique that combines a west coast inspired aesthetic with an urban sensibility. They offer womenswear, swimwear, shoes, and jewelry from Mara Hoffman, Apiece Apart, Electric Feathers, Dezso and Awaveawake. Sunroom is hosting their Grand Opening Party with an Anna Sheffield Trunk Show. Anna Sheffield, one of Sunroom’s favorite jewelry designers, will be bringing special pieces from her atelier in New York City and she’ll be at the event in person, too!
