Red O Santa Monica Introduces New Corporate Executive Chef & New Winter Dinner Menu
This winter, Red O Santa Monica introduces new Corporate Executive Chef Marc Johnson and a new winter dinner menu! With a focus on flavors from Central Mexico, Baja and MexiCali, Chef Johnson finds a balance with Red O Santa Monica mainstays, while introducing new offerings with a seafood focal point. To start, order up Fresh Corn & Goat Cheese Tamales made with fresh ground corn masa, goat cheese, and tomatillo salsa, or Mary’s Duck Taquitos, with slow-cooked duck, tomato-arbol chile sauce, and baby arugula. From The Grill, there is the 18oz Prime Cowboy Ribeye with fried plantains, crema, black beans, and mole negro; and the Tablita for Two, a grilled 32 oz prime tomahawk chop, one pound Maine lobster tail, tajin butter, black beans, Mexican red rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, flour and fresh white corn tortillas. Wild Living Foods Opens
The casual “Neo-Pueblo” inspired plant-based restaurant located in DTLA’s Fashion District, is now open. The space features a bright and beautiful Neo-Pueblo design, anchored by a large, multi-wall, hand-painted mural by artist Jaque Fragua from Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. There’s also an entire wall of Wild Living Foods which is covered with reclaimed wood from vintage wine barrels, hand-cut and stained. In addition, the space features original 1928 vintage Malibu Potteries tiles running along the salad and remedy bars. Malibu Potteries tiles – were only produced in limited supply at the original factory just east of Malibu Pier, from 1926-1932 – are famous for also gracing countless historic homes and buildings in Los Angeles, including the Adamson House, The Mayan Theatre, and Los Angeles City Hall. Wild Living Foods is the passion-project of husband and wife team Richard Torres and Lizbeth Sanchez.  The concept is inspired by the couple’s “Food Is Spirit” philosophy, with the goal of educating others about the power of clean food and its healing qualities. With over 40-years of combined experience cooking gourmet plant-based cuisine, the culinary team is led by executive chef Belinda Wei, chef de cuisine Alex Gomez, and sous chef Abel Gomez (husband of Alex). West Hollywood is now the home of the second U.S. outpost (seventh in the world) of the Michelin-Starred sushi restaurant. It debuted domestically in New York last May. The omakase experience is lead by executive chef Yohei Matsuki and his team of master sushi chefs. They will craft each piece of sushi immediately in front of you sitting at the 16-seat sushi bar.
