Paula Rosen Jewelry

I recently attended a black tie event where I wore a deep red strapless gown. It was beautiful, but it needed something. That something is a necklace by Paula Rosen. I came across her amazing work at an art show at the Santa Monica Airport.

Don’t get me wrong, I went to art school and I LOVE art, but as I turned the corner and saw the sparkle of Paula’s creations, I was hooked. She takes discarded and broken pieces of ceramic, metal, glass, and wood and transforms them into new memories. This concept really spoke to me because 90% of the jewelry I wear, has a story that goes with it. There is something about a piece of jewelry that was handed down, found in a unique place, or, as Paula does, created from something that was discarded.

I couldn’t take my eyes off of a large necklace that was made from antique broaches. It had everything I love in a piece of jewelry: a story, a history, a uniqueness, and was created by someone, who really puts themselves into the pieces they create. It truly was a one-of-a-kind piece of art (and it would go perfectly with my red strapless dress).
