Tripli-Kit Celebrates Opening with Chef Richard Blais
Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts officially celebrate the opening of their newest project Tripli-Kit with special guest Chef Richard Blais who will sign copies of his James Beard Award nominated Try This at Home: Recipes from My Head to Your Plate. Located directly behind The Tripel, Tripli-Kit features a hand selected assortment of cookbooks, kitchenware and tabletop items perfect for any culinary enthusiast. Clover Partners with Coolhaus
Starting today, local and organic cold-pressed juice company Clover has partnered with Coolhaus on two new vegan products. Clover has created a nut milk inspired by their favorite Coolhause ice cream flavor, chocolate salted caramel and Coolhaus has created an ice cream inspired by their favorite Clover cold-pressed juice. Caramel Salé is a chocolate salted caramel nut milk made from almond, cashew, cacao powder, medjool dates, maca, pink Himalayan salt, and water.  Green Juice is a coconut-milk based ice cream with spirulina, banana, vanilla bean, candied dates and toasted coconut shreds. Prices for Green Juice range from $5-6 for ice cream sandwiches (depending on cookie choice) and $5 for a scoop at both Coolhaus locations. Pints of Green Juice ice cream can also be purchased for $12 at Clover’s La Brea location. The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) is proud to announce the lineup for dineL.A.’s Summer Restaurant Week, the city’s popular biannual food event. Blue Bottle Coffee
is on the verge of making an official appearance, according to some emails pushed around by the popular roaster and coffee shop company. And to celebrate, the well-funded outfit is giving away free cups of joe. The plan is to teach up their new staff on all the inner workings of their coffee program by dishing out drinks of choice to anyone who stops in at the 8303 Beverly Boulevard location. The freebie fun kicks off this Monday morning, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all you’ve got to do is mention their one-free-drink-per-person email. After that, the shop will officially come to life on Tuesday, July 14. Ray’s & Stark Bar, LACMA and Artbites Announce Cur-ATE Dinner Series
Ray’s & Stark Bar, in partnership with LACMA and ArtBites presents the next chapter of the Cur-ATE dinner series. Through this combo of fine art with culinary art, ArtBites founder Maite Gomez-Rejón will discuss the role of food in a historical and social context as it’s seen in art through a series of gallery tours, concluding with a four-course meal inspired by the evening’s art, by Chef Viet Pham of Ray’s and Stark Bar. This month, take a “bite” out of the city with an evening of exploring Los Angeles focused on the special exhibition Drawing in L.A.: The 1960s and 70s. Following, visit Ray’s & Stark Bar’s for a family style meal that celebrates L.A. neighborhoods. In September, Savoring Surrealism gives you a chance to discover Surrealism and enjoy a four-course meal with a French and Spanish flair inspired by Salvador Dali’s cookbook, Les Diners de Gala. In November, A German feast provides a chance to explore the art and culinary history of the country through a visit to the museum’s permanent collection of German art. Terrine’s First Bastille Day
Chef/Owner Kris Morningstar and his partners, Frenchmen Stephane Bombet and François Renaud, welcome renowned Michelin-starred, chef Dominique Crenn, for a limited engagement guest chefseven-course dinner. The joint menu will offer the first sneak preview of Crenn’s San Francisco restaurant Petit Crenn, a neighborhood tribute to the food she cooked during her childhood in Brittany, set to open this year. Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails New Summer Menu
Executive Chef Chris Crary, featuring rustic California fare reflective of the restaurant’s airy and charming setting. Tam O’Shanter’s Flora Springs Winery Pairing Dinner
The evening’s lineup will feature four wines from the award-winning winery (2013 Flora Springs Chardonnay, 2013 Flora Springs Sauvignon Blanc, 2010 Flora Springs Trilogy, 2013 Flora Springs Merlot), all of which will be paired with four mouth-watering courses prepared by the Tam O’Shanter. Founded in 1978, Flora Springs Winery is a family owned and operated winery committed to the traditions of fine winemaking for more than three decades. Edward Colver – LA Punk 1980-83 Exhibit at The Darkroom
The third installment of the The Darkroom’s photographic retrospectives dedicated to influential bands and musicians, the Melrose area bar presents an ode to punk rock with an exhibit from the genre’s foremost photographer, Edward Colver. Specialty themed cocktails like the Mosh Pit and Germicide will be offered at preferred pricing from 8-10 pm, as well as complimentary punk rock haircuts from the acclaimed Debonair Barber + Shave Parlor owners Justin and Preki. Sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon, the two month exhibition, “Edward Colver – LA Punk 1980-83”, is curated by Rex Weiner and The Darkroom’s General Manager Jim Kalin, and captures the wild personalities and raw action of Southern California’s punk rock era including bands and performers such as Black Flag, Henry Rollins, Darby Crash, Gun Club, Social Distortion, Circle Jerks, 45 Grave, and Jello Biafra. 5-Year Anniversary Show for the Super Serious Show
CleftClips productions is proud to present the 5-Year Anniversary Show for the Super Serious Show, taking place at the same venue as its very first show, Smashbox Studios. Started in July 2010, Super Serious set out to combine the best of the Los Angeles Comedy scene, each show presenting a new mix of stand-up, sketch and music comedy, along with videos. The Art of Melrose
The Melrose Business Improvement District is hosting a series of themed events for the summer that will highlight all the great things Melrose Avenue, from Fairfax to Highland, has to offer. The series is called The Art of Melrose and will be held every third Thursday throughout June, July and August. First up is focus on fashion and it will take place in the center section of the BID on the Gardner, Martel and Fuller blocks where there is a large concentration of high-end boutiques, trendy restaurants, and unique stores.
