Public School Celebrates American Craft Beer Week
Celebrate craft beer culture across the US, all Public School on Tap locations, who will be serving special 5 oz. craft beer flights, along with suggested food pairings for each. For $12, you can choose between an IPA flight, featuring: School House IPA, Ladyhouse IPA, Mammoth 395 DIPA or an Ale Flight, featuring: Rocco’s Red, Smog City Coffee Porter, and Old Rasputin. Each brew is matched with a suggested menu item specifically chosen as a ‘perfect pairing.” Of course, Public School has plenty of other rare craft brews, rotating taps and large format bottles to share, should that be more of interest. Seven Minutes in Purgatory
This comedy event has a unique premise: the comics will be in a soundproof booth and have no idea whether the audience is laughing at them, or with them, or… both. Comedians include T.J. Miller

Tanzy’s Craft Beer Week
During regular business hours, you can taste four craft beers from Tanzy’s regular menu. The Rockefeller‘s 99 Cent Burger
This South Bay gastropub is ringing in May with a new 99-cent burger special. This month’s burger is made with a 4 oz. patty, 1000 island, provolone & fontina cheeses, red bell peppers, pasilla peppers & red onions sautéed with fresh garlic and a hint of soy sauce. Tuesdays, 5 pm-close;

Joshua Tree Music Festival
This independently produced music festival is held annually in the infamous National Park. The spring festival features an eclectic line up of performers; dance-world-electro-funk’n groove. Kaiju Sushi
This sushi spot is joining Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, which seems to be the place where it’s at these days. Melissa Joan Hart’s Sweetharts is no more, and this swanky new spot is taking over. The head chef at Koi, Go Nakabayashi, is serving up traditional Japanese sushi options, along with creative dishes like spicy tuna fish roe, Shiso ceviche,“The Kaiju” Tartares on Wanton, baked crab hand rolls, and albacore with crispy onions. The Springs’ Nepal Earthquake Relief
They are hosting an all-day Nepal Earthquake Relief Fundraiser. The benefit will have 30% of all sales from the kitchen going directly to Nepal relief.
