CicLAvia — The Valley Edition
CicLAvia is hitting the valley in this edition with a preview of part of their March 22, Metro Presents CicLAvia – The Valley route. CicLAvia is proud to partner with Secret City Tours founder John Bwarie for two walking tours of the NoHo Arts District that will include three food stops. The tours will be held from 10:30 am-noon and 12:30-2 pm with a maximum of 20 people/tour. Expect to walk about two miles. Tour highlights include: History of NoHo, including its cowboy roots, commercial boom and the evolution of the Valley’s “home of the peach” into the NoHo Arts District; learn about the food and retail evolution of the neighborhood; visit the Television Academy Plaza, home base of the Emmy Awards and the Television Hall of Fame; and experience the culture and history of the area bite by bite. $10, 10:30am tour here, 12:30pm tour here; Chandler Boulevard and Lankershim Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 91601

Phantom Carriage
This brewery has been soft-open since December, but it’s officially opening this weekend. Brought to the Southbay by Martin Svab, head brewer Simon Ford, and assistant brewer, Brendan Lake, they use wild yeast fermentation for their ultra-strong beers. So prepare to be introduced to their wild beer this weekend. 13 taps of Phantom Carriage beer will be available, along with 12 more taps from local guest breweries like Monkish and a beer cooler will have another 100 bottles of rare beers, meads, and ciders. C.R.E.A.M. (Cookies Rule Everything Around Me)
This dessert spot that focuses on the university life is having a giveaway promo this weekend (meaning cookie ice cream sandwiches will be free). The Berkeley-based ice cream sandwich shop, that is now by USC, has been serving since 2010. Now Los Angeles can munch on flavors like White Chocolate Macadamia Nut with Cinnamon Chill, Red Velvet with Soy Vanilla, and Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip with Coconut. Saturday, 2-9 pm; 3335 S. Ice Cream Lab
Also in the ice cream game, this spot in Little Tokyo, also has a storefront in Beverly Hills. B Sweet Dessert Bar’s Girl Scout Cookie Bread Pudding

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®‘s Free Breakfast

Slamdance Cinema Club
The ArcLight will screen movies from Slamdance, which was founded by a group of filmmakers who weren’t accepted into the Sundance Film Festival. They decided to started their own event – Slamdance: Anarchy in Utah. 20 years later, Slamdance has become a year-round organization fostering the development of unique and innovative filmmakers. The organization now consists of the Film Festival, Screenplay Competition and Slamdance Studios. So, enjoy screenings by their movies followed by Q&As with the filmmakers and actors.
