Cerveteca in DTLA

One of my favorite Venice spots (and now in Culver City too), Cerveteca (923 E. 3rd St., Ste. 109, Los Angeles, CA 90013) is expands into the Arts District and opening this Friday. The restaurant is along the remnants of an old rail line, with high ceilings, brick walls, long tables and a marble countertop in the back.

There’s a raw bar for ceviches, crudos and oysters, along with starters like meat and cheese plates. There are also spicy bitter orange organic chicken wings and salads like insalata rodé with mixed greens, Heirloom tomato, red onion, edamame, corn, avocado, olive oil, balsamic, and queso freso. Tacos come on house made corn masa tortillas and include fish tacos, salmon tacos, braised beef, chicken and veggie.

Entrees or platos grandes include a ribeye steak, herb basted game hen, enchiladas, sausage board, baby back ribs, pescado a la veracruzana (Red Snapper), Chipotle beer shrimp, hangover spicy soup, chorizo burger, pulled pork sandwich, mac n’ cheese (you can add bacon) and desserts like flan and bread pudding. There is a full bar coming with a focus on beer and wine.
