A Taste of Cabo

Chef Richard Sandoval and his team of chefs from his four Zengo locations around the country went on a weeklong culinary exploration of Mexico’s premier culinary travel destination, Los Cabos. They tasted, they sipped and they cooked alongside some of the region’s Top Chefs. The result? A special menu appropriately named “A Taste of Cabo” that features four exciting new dishes and two handcrafted cocktails inspired by and created in partnership with Sandoval, his team and four Los Cabos Top Chefs that debuts at Zengo Santa Monica (395 Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica, CA 90401; 310.899.1000) through December 31st!

Specialty dishes inspired by the Los Cabos chefs include a selection of seafood like the Sea Bass Tiradito, inspired by Chef Gonzalo Cerda of Esperanza, an Auberge Resort, made with avocado-yuzu purée, salsa negra-soy sauce, tomato, radish, cilantro and crispy shallots; Pan Seared Sea Scallops with furikake, chapulines, short rib tamale, pipian roja, haricot vert and kabayaki inspired by Chef Raul Che of Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort; Octopus Carnitas “Bibimbap” with mushrooms, roasted corn, togorashi, jicama, chile toreado finished with a salsa roja-gochujang sauce inspired by Chef Fabrice Guisset of Las Ventanas, al Paraiso; and the Clam Ceviche made with mango, cucumber, Thai flavors and lime juice inspired by Chef Larbi Dahrauch of One&Only Palmilla.

The menu also features two Los Cabos Cocktails. First up is the Infused Pomegranate & Serrano Margarita with pomegranate and serrano-infused blanco tequila, Cointreau, agave nectar and fresh lime. If you’re feeling spicy,  order the Jalapeño Margarita with tequila reposado, Cointreau, agave nectar, fresh lime and fresh jalapeño.

You will also have the chance to win a 5 day and 4 night trip for two to Los Cabos for the 9th Annual Sabor a Cabo Food & Wine Festival from December 3rd-December 7th (including accommodations and airfare). The “A Taste of Cabo” Instagram Contest invites you to enter by following @LosCabosTourism on Instagram, snapping a photo of your meal at Zengo in Santa Monica and posting the picture using the hashtag #TasteOfCabo. Submissions will be accepted through October 27th and a winner will be selected and announced on October 28th!
