Anti-Girl

Tiphanie Brooke aka Anti-Girl puts on her first glow-in-the-dark art exhibit at the Standard in DTLA this week In 2009, Brooke turned her hearts collection (2008 – 2010) into various large installations, with the first unraveling at Phoenix Design Week (AIGA). Tiphanie adapted these pieces for both public and private collectors, as well as designed an installation for her solo show, a heart condition.

In early 2010 she began experimenting with manual photography and by April 2010, she had won an award from Phoenix College for a deconstructed photo she took, which was later displayed at the Phoenix Art Museum.

In May 2012 she moved back to Los Angeles to attend Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, where she is currently earning her BFA in graphics. Since returning, she created, “The Heart of LA,” which she originally designed as a response to Milton Glaser’s I heart NY and as a further adaption to her lovelife heart. Her LA heart has attracted a lot of attention and is quickly becoming an “urban art icon” around the city of angels.

Free; Wednesday, 8 pm; The Standard, Downtown LA, 550 S Flower St., Los Angeles90071
