Taste of Venice
For one afternoon, the chefs of Venice open up their doors for a unique tasting experience and a great cause. Taste of Venice consists of three courses: The Opening Celebration, the Tasting Tour, and the Post Reception. Guests will be divided into 25 tour groups, each led by a “Tastemaker,” a well-known member of the Los Angeles culinary community. The Opening Celebration will feature food, cocktails, a silent auction, and ample entertainment. The Tasting Tour will be an opportunity to taste exclusive samples from our favorite Abbot Kinney Boulevard restaurants. The Post Reception will include coffee, treats, and drinks. The Fat Dog Whole Pig Roast
The Fat Dog hollywood will have a patio party, where Chef John Gladish will be roasting a whole pig in a Caja China, on the patio, and serving it with sides. There’ll be Sangria, and a DJ, and it promises to be a really fun, neighborhood get-together. The ticket is all you can eat, and includes your first drink too! Style Week Orange County
Celebrity Cruises has always illustrated its ‘modern luxury’ philosophy in a variety of unique settings, from the cruise industry’s first food truck, to its Random Acts of Modern Luxury where Celebrity Cruises swag was given at random to consumers. Now, Celebrity Cruises is the first cruise line to participate in Style Week Orange County with a runway design competition. Celebrity Cruises has challenged students from FIDM to create resort-wear gowns that evoke “Modern Luxury.” “FABULOUS!,” the theme for FIDM’s annual Fashion Museum gala. The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery’s multifaceted fundraiser invites you to try delectable food, artisanal spirits and join in a stimulating celebration of art in all its forms. KCRW’s DJ Dan Wilcox will be spinning tunes and the evening will showcase an array of visual and performing art including live painting, performance artists, giant puppets, nude sketch models, and more. Diavolo / Architecture in Motion
This dance production and artistic director, Jacques Heim, return to Los Angeles with their production of Transit Space and Trajectoire. Diavolo is a non-profit organization and internationally-renowned performance company that reinvents dance and reimagines theater through a fusion of acrobatics, martial arts, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop and other dance programs. The performance at the Greek will feature performances of Transit Space and its signature piece – Trajectoire. There will be special guest appearances by spoken word artist, and Transit Space narrator Steve Connell and by renowned film composer, Nathan Wang who composes Trajectoire. Performers at the Diavolo Institute are trained in DTLA, where Heim’s latest masterpiece, Cubicle, is being designed. An Indiegogo campaign was created to raise money for Cubicle. Blue Diamond at NHM
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) is unveiling one of the rarest stones, a 12-carat Fancy Vivid Blue diamond, internally flawless. The “Blue Moon Diamond” will be housed in a special, temporary exhibition in the Gem Vault and it has been categorized as an extremely significant find – and one of the newest and rarest stones currently worldwide – due to its unique color, clarity, and size. The stone was found in a mine northeast of Pretoria, South Africa, known for discovering some of the most recognized blue and other color diamonds in the world, the Cullinan mine. Voices of LA: The Krupnick Festival of the Arts
This citywide series bringing together award-winning Jewish artists with artmakers from diverse communities across Los Angeles, representing a broad range of ethnicities, cultures, and disciplines.
