Burger Lounge: For the Conscientious Carnivore

Burger Lounge’s (217 N. Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90004; 323.462.2310) has just opened in the heart of Larchmont, the 13th throughout Los Angeles and San Diego. I could never put my finger on why I love Burger Lounge so much, and it hit me- it’s the perfect place for any conscientious carnivore.  I start with their signature Lounge Burger, made with 100% single source, grass-fed beef from a ranch locally here in California, and topped with Applewood smoked bacon, nitrate free of course.  I didn’t know much I disliked nitrates until now, thank you Burger Lounge.  Next is their popular seared Albacore burger, best with their house-made lemon-basil aioli. Why yes, the albacore is caught long line, meaning no net fishing and less trauma, which goes a long way for the conscientious carnivore.  Another plus? Terrific customer service, because it’s comforting to know they’re respectful to humans as well.

Whew. Now that that’s covered, let’s eat. You can’t go wrong with a Half and Half side of onion rings and fries because you’re going to need things to dip in their tasty house-made sauces, including Thousand Island, Aioli, and BBQ sauce. And don’t forget to try the salads- the Organic Buckwheat was an interesting change of pace, and quinoa is so last year. You’ll have just as many options to wash it all down- their Lavender-Mint Lemonade, also house-made is amazing, and they also have in-house ginger beer and other craft sodas, free refills to boot.  And last but not least, top it off with their delicious Salted Chocolate Brownie and their Lounge Shake, and it’s time for a cat nap.
