Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails

Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, (8117 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90046; 323.940.1650) is the new, larger restaurant with a wrap-around patio and former Whist/41 Ocean chef Chris Crary in the kitchen, opening Sunday.

The decor reminds me of an elevated cabin with wooden floors and walls, heavy carpets, velvet tufted sofas, fireplaces and earthy pillows. The long white marble bar is serving up cocktails (and beer & wine) like the Hotel Nacional Special Vintage (Bacardi, Rotham and Winter Apricot Liqueur, lime juice, pineapple juice and simple syrup); The Love Unit (Basil, vodka, vanilla vodka, lime juice, grapefruit juice, red bell pepper juice and simple syrup); and Of Mountain and Men (Hennessy VS, Amaro Braulio, Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur, Peychaud Bitters and Lemon oil).

The food menu consists of dishes like fried chicken sliders, veal tartare, grilled baby octopus, braised beef cheek, squid ink linguine, sambuca mussels,  local miso black cod and a ribeye with curry-spiced fries.
