Bastille Day

Commemorating the beginning of the French revolution and the storming of the Bastille prison on July 14, 1789, Bastille Day has turned into a celebration of French culture and cuisine! Check out what’s going on in Los Angeles.

Les Noces du Figaro
Head to DTLA and this French bistro will be serving a special, French-only, menu that will have Francophiles yelling “oui, s’il vous plaît!” Les Noces du Figaro’s menu will  include: Soupe a L’Oignon (caramelized onion cooked in a beef and chicken broth, topped with croutons and Gruyere cheese); Demi-Douzaine d’Escargots; Les Moules a la Marinieres (white wine, shallots, parsley and a dash of cream); Coq Au Vin (half organic chicken slowly braised in a red wine sauce, served with mushrooms, slab bacon, carrots and mashed potatoes); Parmentier de Legumes (layers of lentils cooked with curry and cumin, vichyssoise carrot, diced eggplant and zucchini topped with mashed potatoes). $35; Monday, 5-9 pm; 618 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90014; 213.622.2116
