It’s holiday time! That means lots of eating and lots of drinking. On the drinking note, mixologists and bartenders across LA are celebrating grapes. They are looking beyond the typical glass of wine, by taking all types of grapes and mixing them into some of the city’s best cocktails.
Going beyond this restaurant’s authentic Mexican and lighter “California-style” dishes, their cocktail menu is pretty large and full of extremely farm fresh cocktails containing house made syrups and grenadines infused by Mixologist Steven Calabro. Try the newest creation, Grape and Agave Caipirinha, made with Concord and Muscato Grapes, Fresh Limes, Agave Syrup, Sagatiba White Cachaca, served on the rocks for $14.
Mercato di Vetro
sbe’s newest addition to LA’s restaurants, is this Italian restaurant, marketplace, and bar that features an array of open kitchens that lets you watch Italian dishes being created right in front of you. The retail area showcases items made in-house by Chef Danny Elmaleh, and their cocktail menu incorporates seasonality, creativity, and global influences. Try the Uva Bella, a combination of gin, green grapes, lime, and St. Germaine liqueur which blends to create a thoroughly 21st century aperitif.
Locando del Lago
Santa Monica’s northern Italian eatery located at the Third Street Promenade, recently introduced a new selection of Italian fashion designer-themed cocktails, featuring “The Gucci”, made with White Grapes, White Meritage, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and organic Tru Vodka. The drink is available for $9 each or $20 per one-liter carafe during happy hour, and for $14 each or $35 per one-liter carafe throughout the day.
Located at the W Hotel in the heart of Hollywood, this spot serves classic and modern interpretations of French cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. Try the hand-crafted seasonal cocktail menu, featuring the Off Vine, made with Ciroc Vodka, Agave Nectar, Fresh Basil, and Grapes, and is available for $13.
